Topic: We would like to propose three possible topics for your second essay, which will be focused on the Faust material from Marlowe through Murnau. While Goethe's Faust should be central to the essay, we would like to see a comparative element in the essay, which may range simply from reference to alternative handlings of key moments, speeches, or characters to a full-on comparison between two treatments of the material.
