This unit introduces the general topic of oscillations and vibrations and then discusses in detail the behavior of various classes of oscillating systems. The important physical concepts and mathematical techniques needed to understand these systems are described and demonstrated. Examples include oscillations with and without damping, oscillations with and without an external driving force, and cases where several oscillators are coupled together.
