Overview

A diagram of a rectangle and inside is another rectangle. Each side of the inner rectangle has a different shape on it; a C with a equal sign, a curly wire with an L, and a zig zag line with an R.

Advice before trying the final exam:

First, look at the titles of each of the lectures to remind yourself in more detail what we have covered. Then, for each unit, read quickly through the homework problems (the questions, not the solutions) for a more in-depth overview of the material. Redo any problems covering topics that you feel less confident about. Where necessary, read the full lecture notes and/or watch the relevant lectures and/or consult a related textbook. It's a good idea to do this review of the material and also to make your best effort to solve all of the problems before looking at any of the solutions. By far, the worst study technique is to simply read the problem solutions.

While many students will not have an opportunity to do the full final exam in one sitting, it is strongly recommended to try to set aside reasonably large chunks of time to work on it, rather than an occasional 10–15 minutes.
